New Mew Video - "Introducing Palace Players"

thumbnail icon: New Mew Video - "Introducing Palace Players"

The stuttering and dreamy No More Stories... standout "Introducing Palace Players" gets a Martin De Thura-directed video that incorporates frogs, horses, a forest, one possessed car, and lots of floating, sentient rocks (that can shoot laser beams obvs) into one single narrative that makes pretty much no sense. Great! See if you can try? The band tells Spinner, "Don't feel like an idiot if it all doesn't add up in the end." Fair enough. Anyway, it's a great song, part of the excellent four-song arc that introduces Mew's latest LP, so watch it and make sure not to feel like an idiot.

Take it:

I love how flamingly danish this is. Floating rocks with lasers. So sweet. I know Jonas bases a lot of his lyrics and ideas on his dreams, maybe with this he was trying to collaboratively recreate one of those dreams. In which case it probably isn't meant to make any sense or mean anything.
I'm gonna throw up so hard when this album comes out.. cant wait

Odd and nonsensical? Have you SEEN their last two album covers? Yet it doesn't matter because they're that good.

I wonder if Fellini would give his vision to Duran Duran...

I get the feeling this isn't going to make a bit of sense even after the last video, but I don't care because I fucking love this song (and whole album).
