New Mika Miko Video - "Wild Bore"
Mika Miko are one of the Smell's most entertaining bands. In this clip for oldish track "Wild Bore" they hop on some trampolines and document it in black and white. The video was directed by Mika member Jennifer Clavin, aka Victor Fandgore, aka past actress, aka the woman with the blond hair and one-piece sorta outfit singing. She and No Age's Dean Spunt have been partnered up for a few years. If you remember, she directed their "Goat Hurt" bicycle ride, which we mentioned is also available on the New Video Works DVD out on Spunt's PPM label. This is what you call a scene. (And despite any backlash it might receive post-No Age, Abe Vigoda, HEALTH, etc., success, a pretty great scene, at that.) Speaking of which: the "Wild Bore" clip was shot at the Smell. Follow the bouncing band:
Hear more Mika at their MySpace. New Video Works also includes great stuff by Abe Vigoda, High Places, Deerhunter, Xiu Xiu, Erase Errata, Soft Circle, etc.
New Video Works is out now via Mr. Spunt's PPM.

Thank God I am not the only one who thinks this band is severely sub par. Par being shit and bland.
I saw these twats in Japan at liquid room and I couldn't stop thinking that it was some guy's kid sister's who got together after chorus practice and started fucking around with his gear.
Fucking horrible basement girl band that sounds about two years late. They never should have left the comfort of the suburbs.
