New My Morning Jacket Video - "Touch Me I'm Going To Scream Pt. 2"

thumbnail icon: New My Morning Jacket Video - "Touch Me I'm Going To Scream Pt. 2"

I've always thought of "Touch Me I'm Going To Scream Pt. 2" as the moment Jim James introduced the Omnichord to a disco beat. From now on I will think of it as a great soundtrack to my fantasies of seeing a Where The Wild Things Are feature film. Video producers The Mixtape Club tell Subterranean the classic Maurice Sendak book (and leaked footage of the troubled Spike Jonze-directed film adaptation) were an inspiration point for this new video, and they note a few more on their site ("BBC's Planet Earth, foliage plucked from the streets of New York City, and the work of Russian animator Yuri Norstein"). Does this mean a Where The Wild Things Are film release is any closer to reality? No. But it's a cool video.

Nice work, guys. Next stop: Sec Walkin. Evil Urges is out via ATO.

That is one of the best tracks on the album. The percentage of fun on that track is off the charts.

I used to think MMJ was genius, then I heard Fleet Foxes....

I pressed play on Fleet Foxes and was immediately reminded of MMJ's genius. You know, like how when you play Robbers on High Street and are reminded of Spoon's genius. Imitation is the greatest form of flattery right? Not dissing Fleet Foxes. Just saying.

Fleet Foxes better than My Morning Jacket???? HAHAHA really??? I mean have you listened to the Fleet Foxes??? They're whole entire sound is basically a rip off Jim James. But i guess the Fleet Foxes are the "cool " new thing right now. Wasn't just a few months ago when every one was in loooove with Band of Horses who where pretty much following My Morning Jacket's sound?? I'm shocked that MMJ doesn't get more respect for basically creating it's own mini-genre that a lot of other bands are coat tale riding to fame.
