New No Age Video - "Goat Hurt"

thumbnail icon: New No Age Video - "Goat Hurt"

Dean and Randy's blog isn't just the greatest source for No Age tour photos and No Age-video critiques, it's also the greatest source for No Age video premieres. As of today, anyway. "Goat Hurt," which first came via the Dead Plane EP, gets a new clip directed by Mika Miko-member and fellow Smell denizen Jennifer Clavin. The vid sets the sorta rock-swing of Randy's drums to a single-shot black-and-white bike ride through (what is likely) L.A. They'll probably hate me for being reminded of Lavender Diamond's rollerblade through the streets from last year, but it does, except that I don't find this one annoying. (On further thought you guys are right -- there's definitely a bit of this.)

(via No Age)

The Dead Plane EP comes via Teardrops, and the band tells us the vid shall be available on a DVD of a new video works called New Video Works, via Dean's label Post Present Medium.

still dont know why everyone goes crazy for this band. they ape their sound from so many bands from the early-mid nineties such as Flat Duo Jets, Gibson Bros, 68' Comeback, Jack Oblivian, Tav Falco and Panther Burns, Oblivians, The Subsonics.....basically a ton of bands from Estrus, Sympathy, Crypt, and In The Red.

Yeah, they're a rock and roll band, just like all the ones you mentioned. Imagine that. And certainly none of those bands sound anything like any other rock and roll bands from the past 50 years, right?

Have you seen them live? They put on a damn fine show. And their latest record sounds really fresh, despite who they may or may not be 'aping' their sound from.

I saw them live and they were boring as hell. Sounded awful as well. Liars blew them out of the water and I'm not even a Liars fan.

well...the video somehow reminds me of the u2-video to "the sweetest thing" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VO4i8LX4zAE). especially at the end when the one guy is a few seconds out of the picture and comes back playing guitar. i wonder why they don't have elephants...

still dont know why everyone goes crazy for this band. they ape their sound from so many bands from the early-eighties to mid-2ks such as Menudo, New Kids On The Block, Color Me Badd, C&C Music Factory, Take That, Hanson, Backstreet Boys, Nsync, 98 Degrees, Five, Boyzone, Westlife, LFO, C-Note, BBMak, O-Town, B2K, Busted, Jonas Brothers, B5, Day26, Naked Brothers Band, Pretty Ricky.....basically a ton of bands from Transcontinental, Disney, Nickelodeon, ColliPark, and Johnny's Entertainment.

holy shit that was funny....Fucking LFO? When that poo came out my friends and I wondered what that could possibly stand for. Our guess was Larry, Falcon, and Oval.

hmm yeah in regards to it being like 'sweetest thing' video i wouldn't be surprised if they're simply trying to pay "homage" to U2
