New Pearl Jam Video - "Life Wasted"

Really, you'd be surprised how many e-mails we get asking for more Pearl Jam. So this is for "those" people:

The video for "Life Wasted" is being offered to the public as a free download under the Creative Commons Attribution-Non-Commercial-NoDerivs license, so that people around the world can legally copy, distribute and share it. Check out the terms of the license here.
Video's pretty cool. How many of you checked out the terms of the license? Didn't think so.

As one of "those" people who has slowly shifted away from PJ in the last year or two (see: drunken Dan Bejar story from a couple days ago) I still really appreciate a site like this one including Pearl Jam along with all the indie and K-Fed content.

wow, a concept clip the band appears in...

Clive Davis must have them drinking the Santana Kool-aid to work this hard pushing an album that is quite good, but still doesn't top their trifecta of Vitalogy, No Code and Yield. (yes, I am a PJ fan who doesn't care for Ten, and is so-so on Vs.)

fernando apodaca made all the sculptures and art in the video and also directed it.

what's that say?

"Attribution-Non-Commercial-NoDerivs license, so that people around the world can legally..."

can legally do fuck-all - 's more like!

here's what googlevideo greets europeans with:

"We're sorry, but the provider of this video has not authorized Google to display this video in your location."

thx sony - you know just where ye can jam that pearl, right?

All the recent PJ chatter on Stereogum reminded me that I had copies of "Vs.", "Riot Act" and "Vitalogy" (in that silly cardboard booklet cover that only fits in your CD shelving sideways) taking up space in my collection. I threw them in the "sell" pile and brought them down to St. Marks where the guy bought every other CD except those. "I can give you a buck a piece for them," he shrugged. "But nobody cares about them anymore--we just throw them in the bins out on the sidewalk and hope someone might want it for $5...". Yep.

hey "crittick" thanks for sharing your day at Saint Marks. It was informative and very entertaining. Perhaps you can fill us in on what you did this afternoon.

by the way, you wouldn't happen to be a graphic designer?

crittick, I hear where you're coming from. Only 360,000 people bought Pearl Jam's new album in the U.S. the first two weeks of release. 1 million world wide. Sold out shows for 15 years running. Career 60 million sales. They just can't give these albums and tickets away. No audience whatsoever. Bums on the street don't want this stuff. You're right on point. So while you were down on St. Marks did you pick up some shoes and a belt?

This is by far the best video that has come out this year. I never liked Pearl Jam before because I just never saw them very much. I bought this new album " Pearl Jam " And to think I thought the Strokes and Green Day were the best rock band out thier. Pearl Jam blows them away. I have just bought the album 10, Vs, and Vitolagy and listened to Vs already. This is the best music that I have ever heard. I'm going to listen to the other two this weekend, and I'm very excited. This video is like nothing that is being made today. I have a new favorite band. Pearl Jam please keep blowing my mind away!

I don't really like posting after that last one, but anyway.

The video was on VH1 today during the top 20 countdown, so you can check it out there since I am sure that they show that like 10 times a week.

What I found interesting was that on VH1, the little tag that says the artist, name of the song and album, said that Eddie Vedder co-directed it. Well, maybe not so interesting, after all.

"Sorry kids, but that's a true story."

Shame on you for selling riot act...that album is hot...good thing you kept binaural.

I'm sure the used cd shop would have purchased your used Beirut cd, cause that bad boy is flying off the shelf Mount Wroclai style.

really, really great album. It hasn't even been out a month, and already it's underrated. Really great effort by Eddie and the guys.

what can I say?

Pearl jam have re established themselves as the premier "real" rock band around today.

I knew they always were, it's just that they kind of went into hiding.

Great clip, it seems that they are re capturing the mystique and macabre ways that they had in 93,94 and 95. I love the way that they don't just bring out clips to promote stuff like the Chilli Peppers and Foo Fighters do. This is an art clip, and this Fernando Apodaca guy that directed it is a very impressive artist.

This album, although still under rated, is the best rock album of the year so far.

Alot of the new rock bands today should sit up and take note.

the video grows on you, and it is definitely worth seeing in the hi-res because of the jump cuts. I love the fact that they are publishing it under the Creative Commons license.

My friend is a huge PJ fan and I have always respected them but never really got into them. He had an extra ticket to the United Center Chicago show. I went and was literally blown away by them. They are one of the best bands out today. This is coming from someone who is into all kinds of things underground wise. But honestly, mainstream bands today are awful, the arctic monkeys and all that NME bullshit can't stand to pearl jam. So to those snobs trying to prove that pearl jam isn't influential anymore, forget you. Go turn your Art Brut album on repeat while you look in your sisters closet for her new jeans to wear. And does thou think that all the bands out aren't ripping on other influential bands from manchester in the 70's and 80's. I've seen 1,ooo different supposed "new" bands that are all joy division.
