New Pipettes Video - "Because It's Not About Love (But It's Still A Feeling)"

Take computerized graphics, vibrant colors 'n' polka dots, and girl group swing and you have yourself a conceit for a Pipettes video. The trio's in vintage cars and living rooms, smiling and dancing and making us want a milkshake at the drive-in diner. You get two glimpses at the black-and-white clad backing band, but face it you're not watching for the backing band. With the dust settled on the Pipettes hype storm, were they worth all that? Probably not. Is this song harmless fun? Yep! (via P4K):

We Are The Pipettes is out now via Cherrytree.

The Pipettes belong on a side stage pavilion at Six Flags dancing with a big plastic headed mascot. They're just plain horrible.

Just wanted to let you all know about a site my friend started, called audioexposure.org. Post a legal link to an mp3 on the site and he will donate a dollar to a DC charity that helps inner city school kids.

Uh, ok. I guess that is the last word needed, ever, on this band. Close down the music business.

Eh, it's not horrible. I'd file it under "guilty pleasure"

That Pipettes record was better than 99% of the ones released last year. Your Kisses Are Wasted On Me was a Top 20 single for me in 2006. For a lot of people it won't hit the mark, but then, you're not supposed to like everything.

this is another crap band cashing in on the retro 60's crap that amy winehouse started.

It is what it is, which is great and wonderfully crafted pop music. Seriously good pop music. If that's not your thing, so be it, but it isn't awful. It's actually very well done.

The Pipettes are really amazing. I loved that album when it dropped in July or August of last year. Great tunes.

And they're great live too, so go check them out if they're playing at a venue near you. It's all about the wonky dance moves and the polka dot dresses. I love them.

Oh, and the brunette is going out with the guitarist from the backing band, the Casettes. My friend was devastated at the sight of them together. I personally think the blonde one without the glasses is the best. Couldn't tell you why if my life depended on it.
