New Ratatat Video - "Flynn"

thumbnail icon: New Ratatat Video - "Flynn"

We've seen the literally explosive video for Ratatat's toe and shrapnel-tapping "Mirando" and before that offered a more plaintive taste of LP3 with the purring down-tempo prog of "Shiller." Now the NYC duo of Evan Mast and Mike Stroud are making like a wavy, psychedelic Paul Simon and Chevy Chase with "Flynn," a dubbed-out echo-chamber remix of "You Can Call Me Al," which comes accompanied by a modified version of the classic Graceland video.

Best use of Paul Simon this week. Maybe it's not a proper music video, but what is a proper music video anymore?

LP3 is out 7/8 on XL.

Certainly not that badass video for "House of Cards" that was just released. Whoa.

This is a remix? (YAWN) Sounds really lame and boring to me, not to mention nothing like the original. At least the video was mildly entertaining.

I think you just admitted to having never heard "You Can Call Me Al," because if that's a remix of "You Can Call Me Al," I'm Paul Simon. (Hint: I'm not Paul Simon.)
