New Ringo Starr Video - "Liverpool 8"

OK fine Ringo, we lied that you walking off the Regis And Ripa set was the only way we were gonna talk about your new album. Because it is pretty noteworthy that you thought it prudent to go back to EMI now, for the first time since '75, right when everybody else is swimming for shore. It's also pretty amazing to see you and Dave Stewart in the same camera frame, here, 'cause it sorta reminds us of Multiplicity, and we haven't thought about that movie in a long time! And finally, although the song itself is a banal slog, your Liverpudlian trips down memory lane are infinitely more interesting than most anyone elses. So, we'll say it again: Ringo's got a new album.

Liverpool 8 is out now via Capitol.

Not only is that song awful but it's also insincere and locals are not too happy. http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverpool-news/regional-news/2008/01/21/ringo-starr-there-s-nothing-i-miss-in-liverpool-64375-20373524/

Musically, its one of the weaker efforts on the album. Some of the other stuff isn't bad.

C'mon people; Ringo is what he always has been; the fact that he wrote about where he grew up, and referenced his "mates" is very cool. Just sit back and enjoy the music!

I think just cos Ringo is an ex Beatle it entitles him to make music, but this is not the best effort from a member of the best band ever. Where is Julian when you need him ,dont get me wrong, I loved the beatles and all they and Ringo stood for, but this is realy poor. Sorry Ringo fans, but its also insincere to the band.

You have to remember that Ringo is 67 years old plus he came from the most famous band ever. Now that he solo's as Ringo Star he's not supposed to sound like The Beatles, he's supposed to sound and think like he actually is and that's because he actually is Ringo Star.
I am looking forward to hearing the entire cd plus I want to pick up Ringorama.
Liverpool don't be mad at Ringo. I think that his intentions were there. Ringo might be better off living where he is but I know that in his heart he loves Liverpool.
You gotta remember that The Beatles were larger than life and that's a hard act to follow plus it also made it very hard on the fab four to live normal lives. Sure they're famous and rich but it also had a tragic side. Peace & Love....that's the way Ringo would love it and so would John, George & Paul.
