New Robyn Video - "Handle Me"

Robyn makes good videos, makes great singles, and has excellent eyebrows. This must be why they're black while the top's not in this vid for "Handle Me," one of Robyn's many vid-worthy songs. In it she's doing her "I'm fly" boasting, representing your inability to handle her via breaking out of boxes and jump cuts to her humping a stuffed animal and a dancing ninja. Don't analyze, just enjoy.

In case you didn't grab it last time, here's Björn Yttling (of PB&J) offering a clang-happy remix of "Handle Me"...

Robyn - "Handle Me (Bjorn Remix)" (MP3)

Robyn is out in the States 12/4 on Konichiwa (via Island). You must buy it because it is awesome. That's all.

No, no... I'm pretty sure Martin Gore has his own vagina...

Wouldn't it be amazing if Robyn actually is a hit. She's got a great backstory/history. The album has kept many of us happy for a couple of years and hasn't worn thin. And adding the best song she's ever done, "With Every Heartbeat" is a cherry on top. Island
is sitting on a goldmine, they better not screw it up, this album
deserves to be a monster hit. This chick has worked hard for it.

I watched that video with the sound off and I thought it was very hot and creative!

I just hope the song is as good as the video.

She looks very "mannish." And not Virginia Woolf "mannish," but "I have a penis" "mannish."

Band To Watch: Blank Dogs

Blank Dogs are actually singular: It's the insanely prolific one-man Brooklyn-based band of Mr. Blank Dog. We don't know too much about the biography of the guy behind the bedroom new-wave pop/punk and he's usually covering his face with masks...

Quit Your Day Job: Megafaun

Raleigh-via-Eau Clair BTW Megafaun debuted impressively earlier this year with Bury The Square. The trio nip-and-tuck experimental tendencies (tape splicing, white noise colliding with banjo, junkyard-laced spring reverb, screeching feedback at the tail end of a quiet back porch lament)...

Premature Evaluation: of Montreal - Skeletal Lamping

Skeletal Lamping is anything but skeletal. When we took a close listen to album closer "Id Engager" we mentioned it wasn't the strangest, most ambitious, or best tune on of Montreal's new one, but after absorbing the other 14 tracks,...
