New Rubies Video - "Diamonds On Fire"
California pop duo Rubies directed the lo-tech video for "Diamonds On Fire," a track from their just released debut Explode From The Center. We're told the band's Simone Rubi (who sings and plays electric piano/synths and occasionally guitar) with bassist/vocalist Terri Loewenthal, guitarist Nicolas Dobbratz, and borrowed drummers. On Explode they also received assistance from Kings Of Convenience's Eirik Glambek Bøe (not of Kommode), Feist, Lykke Li collaborator Lars Skoglund, Karl-Jonas Winqvist (aka Blood Music), Dan Judd (aka Sorcerer), etc. No sign of any of those folks here: Instead, we get the gals dancing and singing in front of a faux black and white forest, going for a run in a real forest where they find a colorful cloth, and imbuing the original dance with additional hues.
