New !!! Video - "Heart Of Hearts"

Dirty dance (punk) parties are what !!! are all about, so it's fun to watch the sprawling crew turn a stadium crowd into a mass of shower-needing body movers. It's been months since last we saw 'em, but watching Nic Offer do his spread-armed hip wiggle (in short shorts!) brought us back (except for the short shorts part). The vid's for the lead single from Myth Takes; it's the record's strongest, but the first three tracks are nearly as addictive. By the way, Offer will bury you in a dance-off.

I wanted to respectfully disagree with you about the strongest track. I think Bend Over Beethoven is better than the opening 3 tracks. At about minute 6, that track starts to kick-ass. Like Panda Bear's new Good Girl/Carrots, the second half of the song makes the mediocre first half worth waiting through.

The second half of "Bendover Beethoven" is nuts. Totally agreed.

I'd rather they didn't even try. Many strides have been made in music video, and this effort includes none of them. Concert footage spliced together is quite forgettable, and their music can sustain itself on its own anyway. Pearl Jam is doing just fine.

I also think "Sweet Life" is a standout track. I third the Bend Over Beethoven love.

i can't believe they cut out the last section of the song for the video. it's the best part!

Is it just me, or does this track have way more in common with Madchester/"old rave" than the Klaxons or any of the other new ravers?

Speaking of which, the Klaxons' record is really good. A couple questionable choices but overall I like it a lot.

i dont think the comments are moderated by NME or annoying hipsters.. so not everything can be related to the klaxons..sorry max.

maybe you're interested in this. excerpt from an interview i had with nic offer last week, concerning visual aesthetics in "myth takes":

"if you look really closely you can see molly and phillies in the new video, too! the one from 'must be the moon' when it comes out, they're at the shoot! (...) the new video's gonna need pixelation!" (see: video 'hello? is this thing on?') "the guy who made it wanted to create a can of anger. he wanted to create a kind of sixties-séance kind of vibe. we had pretty much fun doing it and it's pretty much tongue in cheek. (...) all i know is my mom's not gonna be happy."

video been shot 200 miles outside nyc.
