New Weezer Video - "Pork And Beans"

thumbnail icon: New Weezer Video - "Pork And Beans"

Red has been leaking bit by bit -- three songs here, four songs there -- and so far we're all a little less than enthused. Remember when people were enthused, though? Way back when we first sampled "Pork And Beans"? It has an official video now. And that official video involves Tay Zonday. But no worries, nobody gets Rick Rolled, and there are about a dozen and a half other YouTube celebs (like this guy or those gals) in it, too. We missed you Numa Numa Dance guy. Srsly. It's like internet people, Weezer style. The Chris Crocker cameo? =w= saying "leave Rivers aloooone." Not like you will, but still. Cute. Like the people in the Iraq, such as.

Ah, that was awesome. So was Keep Fishin' with the Muppets, sadly the only other Weezer video I've seen...

Awesome video! I'm embarrassed I knew who all those people were. I wonder if in the future some people will come across this video and have no idea what is going on.

Too bad Barenaked Ladies already had this idea about a year and a half ago for the Sound of Your Voice video.

It's still a fun video and a pretty good song, though.

When Weezer is on, they're excellent. When they're off, they're dreadful. This is the former.

immediate 5-point deduction for the inclusion of the "OMG SHOES" guy. other than that it was awesome. the part where rivers hugs chris crocker is oddly poignant too. and damn, k-fed is getting faaaaaat.

See I could defend the OMG Shoes guy...but that would just crunk the ego. And I could diss it, but then that wouldnt be true. So stuck with, nice...v nice Liam. Enjoy Cho!

This is pretty funny. Quality song, too. I checked out what's leaked, and some of it is pretty awful, but "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived," "Pig," and "Automatic" rank up there with some of their best. It's nice to see them getting things right again for a change.

this video is another reason why were still all in love with Weezer. Its like your dumb older brother that sometimes messes up....you still love him even though he's an idiot sometimes. Cause you know, deep down there is genius in him.

Brilliant analogy. Exactly. Rivers can be downright awful sometimes, but I know -- and, as you said, I think most of us know this deep down -- that he's capable of being really awesome sometimes, as is the rest of the band. This video exemplifies what I love about them. They've still got that Weezer charm, despite the cheesy lyrics. Love it.

Also, drumming with lightsabers? Freaking AWESOME.

Really? Really.

That was awful. What happened to actual, decent music videos with actual, decent ideas? Congrats, Weezer, enjoy your extra 15 minutes on VH1 while your music goes down the shitter.

Cool idea for a video, but the terrible song just drags it down.

Weezer should've stopped at the Blue Album - they'd be legends.

Pinkerton > Blue Album

Pinkerton is a masterpiece and a huge achievement in pop music. They are already legends Brian. Isn't one masterpiece enough you greedy bastard.

Oops, I meant Pinkerton.

I know they're both masterpieces. Just saying they should've stopped there while they were ahead. Now they've just gone to shit.

Pinkerton was AMAZING. It SO SPOKE to you when you were 2*! I loved that album so much!! GOD!
But time to move the fuck on right? Please? grow up a tiny bit?

What is the MOST commented thing on the gum? You got it. Weezer stuff!

Please go pretend that the new Death Cab album does not BORE the shit out of you and let the masses have there fun? k?

Yes the Barenaked ladies did it first but it was a boring song by a boring bad.
Like your girlfriend will tell you, it's not who is first, it's who is the most fun :)

What's with these homies dissing my band? I decided to give Big one last chance. I know I can trust myself, but can I trust him? Meanwhile, Charlotte was across town, tending to the apartment she loves and the city she doesn't.

I think people are just really willing to give this band the benefit of the doubt. I mean, everyone loves blue and pink - so Rivers could poop on a microphone, and at the very least, it would be nostalgia-smelling poop. NAWMEAN?
