New Yeah Yeah Yeahs Video - "Down Boy"

Well the results of that YYYs MySpace show in Brooklyn are in, and we finally know (in part) what they were filming: a music video! The clip's for "Down Boy," the single from the never-say-no trio's forthcoming EP of freshly-recorded old tunes. Maybe it's the night-vision effect, but it doesn't look like that crowd followed Karen's "Dress in black!" commandment. Love the eyemasks, though. And for the folks pissed they didn't get into Glasslands that night ... sorry, looks you missed a pretty great show, a little mic fellatiO, and Karen's tinsel-ating bodysuit. (via P4K)

The track comes from YYYs Is Is EP, out 7/23 in the UK on Dress Up/Fiction. Check the five-track listing after the jump.

01 "Rockers To Swallow"
02 "Down Boy"
03 "Kiss Kiss"
04 "Isis"
05 "10x10"

The video is almost as good as having been there. Almost.

hah, julian. I partially agree.... the new york 4 have loss some of their steam over the years (walkmen, yyys, strokes and interpol). However, this song is years old and have been available for about 3 years... so it was from when she was still angsty. Therefore, good song- good video.

Maybe I'm wrong, but of "The New York 4" (copyright that shit, D) - I think Interpol and YYYs are still on their game. Ehhh - not so much for The Strokes and The Walkmen.

What is that, a MicroKorg?
If your singer spent more on one outfit that you did on one synth, re-evalute your purchase and your band.

Band To Watch: Blank Dogs

Blank Dogs are actually singular: It's the insanely prolific one-man Brooklyn-based band of Mr. Blank Dog. We don't know too much about the biography of the guy behind the bedroom new-wave pop/punk and he's usually covering his face with masks...

Quit Your Day Job: Megafaun

Raleigh-via-Eau Clair BTW Megafaun debuted impressively earlier this year with Bury The Square. The trio nip-and-tuck experimental tendencies (tape splicing, white noise colliding with banjo, junkyard-laced spring reverb, screeching feedback at the tail end of a quiet back porch lament)...
