While I agree with your sentiments that the video is a piece of garbage, you might wanna retake whatever history classes you did and realize that Canada played a major role in both World Wars and in fact, almost single-handedly liberated the Dutch during the Second World War. Nobody hates Avril, some people just didn't like the song. Respect them. I didn't like the song because it's the lyrics, it was kind of insulting to my ears but I also recognize that's going to be a hit! It's catchy and fun, even. I don't care what style Avril is and how she changed or not, I only care about the music and, personally, when given me a choice of what to listen, that song wouldn't be in my list.
