New Black Lips Video - "Let It Grow"

thumbnail icon: New Black Lips Video - "Let It Grow"

Black Lips have broken up their recent bloglines dominance in helping Wavves turn indie rock into high school with this new video from their '09 LP 200 Million Thousand. "Let It Grow" hits its bloodshot-eyed stride early and does little to shift course over three minutes of ramshackle gutter punk, but its Matt Dilmore-directed video evolves as it rolls: a heavyset tourist with a cosmic appetite goes on a gonzo roadtrip, camera in hand, starting simple before paying homage to various astronautical attractions including a UFO museum, a memorial for a space chimp, and a street parade of oddballs with an abiding love for alien couture. He's right at home there, probably thanks to his space helmet, definitely thanks to the mushrooms that keep blooming all over his face.

Seriously, F*** all you Politically Correct douchebags. Black Lips don't give fuck about all you whiney lame-o's. Black Lips and their fans are all about good times and rock n roll. I honestly can not believe you people can't handle a little fist fighting and a fowl mouth. Go hide under your blankets.

When they sing "Let it grow" I hope they're talking about Jared's maturity level. Waste of human life right there, folks!

Black Lips Blow.
This song sounds like a shitty high school band.
I'm glad Jared Swiley got his ass kicked.
Next time I hope they finish the job.

@ monster bl

politically correct douchebags? Jared Swilley is a fag, how about that for politically correct? The only reason he uses the word fag is because he is actually a fag himself. The only whiney bitches on this page are you and your boy Jared. I feel bad for the rest of Black LIps, and you.

I've never really liked the Black Lips recordings very much, except for the live one in Mexico, which is sooo fucking good. You have to see them live to truly understand why they are so amazing. Just about anyone can pull off a slick "indie" recording on a macbook their daddy bought them, but not many bands out there can do what they do onstage. it's fucking magical. so shut up.

black lips are sick, but this songs not my favorite and the lyrics do sound quite gay...on another note nathan williams is a little bitch bottom line..jared was being a dick for calling him out n such but nathan seems like a little self assured pussy and his music is nowhere near that of the lips
