New Born Ruffians Video - "I Need A Life"

thumbnail icon: New Born Ruffians Video - "I Need A Life"

The jerky, sugar-rush rockers of Born Ruffians invite you to the farmhouse, where there are not cluster flies, alas, but there are plenty of animals at the ready to intrude upon your cooking sessions. This is where you can Like Jamie Lidell's Jim, a sort of cute opening premise takes a darker turn in Act III, but it's still cute and infectiously poppy, because that's just how Born Ruffians do. In fact you might even say it was an Animal Farm, if you were into stretching your Orwellian references. Luckily, we aren't.

(via Subterranean)

That cut comes from the Ruffians' really good Red, Yellow & Blue LP, which is out via Warp.

I love this cd. Very underrated due to the Vampire Weekend hype at the time of its release. I love V.W. but Red Yellow and Blue is right up there for one of my favorite releases.

i love red, yellow, and blue.
and this video is... interesting. it's kind of like the video for "hummingbird" which seems so innocent, then it takes a darker turn when they eat the animated hummingbirds. i like it though.

This is an insult on animal farm. Orwell would be turning in his grave.
