New Cursive Video - "I Couldn't Love You"
Even when their songs are subpar, Cursive deserve a warm pat on the back for their ambitious, high-concept (and narrative) videos. The veteran crew's Mama, I'm Swollen single "From The Hips" was their best song in years, offering a chance to go the "Bastards Of Young" route. Instead, the Michael Grodner-directed video playfully and intelligently expanded upon Tim Kasher's look at folks over-thinking and over-playing their assumed bourgeois societal roles. The second Mama single "I Couldn't Love You" is another musical gem, and again they go full-on with the visuals: Danny Drysdale's treatment stars Lost's Tania Raymonde (aka Alex) running from a shotgun wedding in search of the Land Of Runaway Brides. Kasher & Co. get dramatic in the shadows.
Mama, I'm Swollen is out via Saddle Creek.

The Ugly Organ was always one of my favorite albums. I don't believe I've listened to anything from them since. Looks like I'll pick the album up and give them another chance to impress me (fingers crossed)

that Tania Raymonde is popping up everywhere. I saw her in an episode of Law & Order, then in a shitty movie just last week. At least she is used to running from people trying to catch her in a forest
Great track by cursive and a really accomplished video. To be honest I didnt like the video for From The Hips that much, this one i dig.
