New Florence & The Machine Video - "You've Got The Love (The xx Remix)"
As dime-a-dozen blog bait, remixes don't usually merit official videos. But most remixes aren't this officially excellent, so let's all try to calm down and enjoy this clip! Florence & The Machine covered Source And Candi Staton's "You've Got The Love" on her Lungs LP, and has frequently shared bills with London's CMJ-ubiquitous the xx; when they were wrapping up their last tour together, they released this souvenir, which has Romy and Jamie providing de novo vocalizations over snippets of Florence's harp and melisma set to warped dubstep, keyboard, and computer bits. It is very good and will make for a surprisingly perfect soundtrack to your next Studio 54 theme party. You know that is true because it is a surprisingly perfect soundtrack to this video, which is basically a Studio 54 theme party. Designer drugs for all.

Does anyone think this looks like an edited version of what might be an upcoming or canned Florence and the Machine video for this song? I mean the only thing that actually goes to the rhythm of the song is the editing and some camera effects that can all be done in post. I think this is a edit of the original video cut to match up to the remix. And besides, the only time that her lip-syncing actually matches up is when it's her own audio clip

@zach : this is the video for the single release (which is a re-recording, not the album take.) Someone's just gone and made a few edits and laid the xx version over the top.

Hey, congrats to you guys on correcting "Candi Station" in the article. And the tags. Like it never happened. Best not to acknowledge the oversight, I guess. Pretend you knew all along who she was. But seriously, you should YouTube some Candi Staton. She was the real deal. Unlike Florence n her machine.
