New R.E.M. Video - "Living Well Is The Best Revenge" (Live)

thumbnail icon: New R.E.M. Video - "Living Well Is The Best Revenge" (Live)

This October R.E.M. will release Live At The Olympia, a double-disc set capturing 39 songs from the band's five-night Dublin stand of "Working Rehearsals" in preparation for their great return to form, Accelerate. The deluxe version includes a DVD film of the shows by Jeremiah and Vincent Moon (who captured the band for a La Blog session and helmed their "Supernatural Superserious" video). From that live footage comes this take of Accelerate's tone-setting "Living Well Is The Best Revenge," performed here like a band that already knows which song is going to open their next album.

More info on the release, including a stream of the Dublin performance of "Driver 8," over at remdublin.com.

R.E.M. Live At The Olympia is out 10/27.

UPDATE: And here's "Drive"

Awesome song. Great album. Was nice to have REM back adn energetic after being "away" for a few years.

Nice! This will be a welcome upgrade from the Dublin bootlegs I listened to on a loop.
They played this tour with such energy -- can't wait for the CD/DVD.

The music in this video is not 'live'. it's the studio version made to look live.

Hey... David Bell from remhq here; in response to comment #3 which questions the veracity of the live recording... rest assured that it is live and any suggestion that it isn't is silly. Perhaps the confusion stems from the fact that, as Accelerate's producer Jacknife Lee himself has pointed out, "The album version (itself) is recorded live..."

That brings back some great memories. I hope the CD includes the between song banter and Michael's rambling anecdotes.
