New Ryan Adams Live Video - "Goodnight Rose"
DJ Reggie left his hip hop gear at ryan hyphen adams dot com, instead donning his beloved Batman tee at a recent performance on The Henry Rollins Show, giving IFC viewers their first taste of his forthcoming, June-released record. "Goodnight Rose" is the album opener, and it sounds like a holdover from the Jerry-loving Cold Roses sessions. Which is to say, lots of mixolydian moments and Dead-friendly choruses. I'm getting bored of the Cardinals sound. The past three albums were all really solid, but this sounds really similar to what would have been found on the last three albums. yeah he loves the sound of his own voice that guy. it did sound like it could come straight off Cold Roses. I'd love it for him to go back and do another Heartbreaker without the Cardinals. Laid back, downtempo, acoustic. Although I don't have a problem with the music he's doing now, he seems to have found a musical niche here that he's happy with.

It sounds like a very well crafted combination of Greatful Dead and something from Neil Young and Crazy Horse{1st album or Tonights The Night}....two very great flavors in one.....This song{Goodnight Rose} and the performance{What Sin} are jaw dropping...he has great conviction over his song's, this guy's musical art has got a great deal of passion behind it.

I don't know Ryan, but I would love to. I think he's an amazing, beautiful person who has produced some of the finest music that has enriched my life. He's an artist and a genius and his music is beautiful and brilliant. Historically, many significantly contributing artists have had troubled lives. Most geniuses are a little crazy, aren’t they? Look at him for his art and his contribution. Saying he’s insecure, I’d say it’s more like he doesn’t give a shit what people think of him, which is actually pretty refreshing. I can’t wait to see him play in Colorado in August and I can’t wait for his new album to come out in June, the two tracks I’ve heard are amazing. I want to see him live sooner than later, to make sure I get the chance.
