New Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings Video - "Tell Me"

thumbnail icon: New Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings Video - "Tell Me"

A week after we witnessed Sharon and Bushwick's Dap-Kings get all sorts of fierce in the Mojave tent at Coachella, we get to revisit the joy of that set only from the much more cozy and infinitely less sweaty comfort of our blogging seat. Adam Elias Buncher, who created the faux-vintage look for Sharon & the Dap-Kings' "100 Days, 100 Nights" video last year, weaves more of his retro magic, allowing us to Stax nostalgic on "Tell Me."

(via Spinner)

Seeing Sharon shimmy and the horn men step in quadrangle image frames is enough for a smile, but to get the full thrust of her gospel make sure to be a part of her congregation some time.

100 Days, 100 Nights is out via Daptone.

Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings are awesome! I listened to a few tracks on their album on Record Store Day, talk about soul music. :)

this is a decent review for an amazing band, not done much justice. This is some good old school funk sound, my blog musicandartsblog.com has a review

a little sparse of a review, this is some of the best stuff out right now, tons of soul and throw back sound to a simpler, more elegant erra.
