New Thom Yorke Records Coming In September

thumbnail icon: New Thom Yorke Records Coming In September

Citing sources at the Sonic Unyon pressing plant, Exclaim.ca is reporting that a "Apart By Horses"/"The Hollow Earth" 12" comes out 9/22 on TBD Records. It is said to be limited to 8,300 copies worldwide and have "really awesome packaging and artwork." OK. The timing does coincide with the release of Twilight 2: The Legend Of Curly's Gold, so draw your own conclusions. In more official news, the Radiohead frontman's "All For The Best," that Mark Mulcahy cover we premiered last month, sees a 7" release 9/7 via Mezzotint. It's backed with Mulcahy's original and limited to just 2,000 copies. Finally, you'll wanna keep an eye out for The Age Of Stupid, a global warming docudrama playing in 444 (should we be paying attention to these numbers?) theaters nationwide on 9/21 followed by a live broadcast of a NY panel discussion with Kofi Annan and Gillian Anderson. There Thom Yorke will perform an acoustic version of the Stupid title track (via PASTE). Back to the 12" rumor -- those of you who think "Apart By Horses" sounds familiar are correct. Here's a performance of it from 2005:

Time to break open the piggy bank.

Yeah, I remember when I was a kid and I was pretty exiteded by "The reckoner" I'm happier with the version we have now, but its odd hearing it now ander any other name than "the reckoner"

I love Radiohead to death but Thom Yorke seems like a pretty huge douche bag

Thom's not a douche...he's a classic murcerial tortured songwriter...kinda. He's actually really funny, just most people don't get it, or see it. Though...if you listen/dl any of the billions of bootleg shows from the past few years, you'll hear him joke between songs all the time. And theres plenty of vague/sarcastic song lyrics too. He hates the spotlight yet has gotten used to it...its...a pretty common thing. You WANT stardom yet...arent ready for it, see kurt cobain I think most douches out there are the non-quiet/weird types, the loud mouths n cocky fuckers. They're the real dickheads...see Oasis:) Oh btw, if Jim Morrison were around today...Jimmy Hendrix...tons of classic guys...they'd be thought of ass dickheads too, i guarentee it.

I totally agree with Dave. Besides, a lot of the people he snubs are perfect examples of what Radiohead is against. For example, Radiohead is very anti-commercialism. Thus, when Thom York snubbed Miley Cyrus, it was pretty damn funny!
