New Yeah Yeah Yeahs Video - "Heads Will Roll"

thumbnail icon: New Yeah Yeah Yeahs Video - "Heads Will Roll"

In this second Blitz! vid, Karen, Nick, and Brian are relegated to backing a dapper, dancing wolfman. The synthpop-loving monster dismembers them at the end, as temperamental artists are wont to do, though Karen was really asking for it with the "Dance, dance, dance 'til you're dead"/"Heads will roll" nonsense. Wolfmen don't know idioms. R.I.P. YYYs. The clip was directed by Richard Ayoade of The Mighty Boosh, the UK comedy that recently began airing on Adult Swim.

Via NME.

It's Blitz! is out now.

Wolfman is going to have to work on his lines if he wants to make past Vegas week on So You Think You Can Dance.

Here's hoping the next single is 'Hysteric' or 'Little Shadow'.

Better than I thought it would be. not mind-blowing though, but I wasn't expecting it to be.

Well, that was an interesting video. The whole werewolf thing didn't blow my mind like it maybe was intended to do. I just noticed that KO looks truly wicked and is sporting another epic outfit. Also, Brian Chase always looks like a badass in shades. The glitter-blood was nice i think.

the end of the video is brilliant. them lying there all chopped up.with glitter red blood clots. looking completely calm - or maybe the word is vapid - in death's claw.

Wow. This video is just bad. From the hideously awesome dress Karen O. is wearing to everything that follows. I was gonna say this is one of the videos we look back at in 10 years and laugh at for being terrible but I'm already doing it. Kind of like a Phil Collins' video from the '80s.

Rob S and Alan, go fuck yourselves. Karen's dresses are very quirky, but always inventive and cool looking. As for the video, it fits in well with the theme of the song, which is something like a disco danse macabre. Karen has said she likes Michael Jackson and the Thriller video, so the wolfman reference is obvious. And the red glitter as blood is a really nice touch and keeps the video creative. Real blood would have made it just gory and really cheesy. I would like to ask Rob S and Alan what they would consider good videos, or are they just shitting on this good video because they can? If you dont like this, Get Lost.

I played "Heads will Roll" back in March while DJing and cleared the d/f with it....I've got footage of me going "You watch in 10 weeks these motherfuckers are gonna love this shit" to another DJ...video killed the "are we allowed to like it if we've never heard it before angle" is too long for a song title I guess..

Glitter/faux intestines very L.E.S. Artistes, though I'm sure Santigold didn't invent it.

I dig the song ...the band itself on a whole is unique ; and since i'm so fed up with the kind of sucking up that artists do to the media ..... i'm glad somebody's got their individuality intact. So two thumbs up!! Go girl!!!
