Old Folks Review St. Vincent, Isis Joe doesn't like Annie Clark's voice! Anne doesn't think Isis is heavy enough! Bill is still sorta pointless! A decent review session overall, with Joe's Isis zing being a highlight. He's a star.

I'm always surprised by how insightful their comments are on a purely descriptive level. Anne's comment, intended as a complaint, that it sounds like two songs at the same time, is a really interesting and accurate one, as is the older guy's interesting comparison to Les Paul recording techniques. I especially like the connections that guy is always able to make to great musicians of the past, and they're usually very apt comparisons.

I suspect most watch this show just to laugh at how out-of-the-know older people are about contemporary music, others as an excuse to hate on trendy indie, but they really do have interesting things to say, and sometimes bring a very insightful, unique, and even musically informed perspective.

I love that show.

anne's comments on this one actually weren't that bad. i'm surprised she acted so calmly to a band like isis.

i want to see them review wavves and health next. please.
