So, a couple of things about this fan video, taken at last night's FOB show in New Mexico, where overzealous security engaged with stage-crashing fans. First off, we love that P. Wentz decides, "This song doesn't need bass ... it needs me screaming on a monitor, slapping fan hands!" Good choice, Peen, we've always felt your playing was unnecessary. For the next, we'll be honest: We admire the impulse to jump in and save your "friends"; but we see the big dudes, and you get nowhere near 'em! But nice work taking credit; it's your talent!

In response to the post by the person who said he writes all of their songs, he sits around coming up with stupid phrases all day long and then hands them over to the lead singer to write the actual music and make the songs. The lead singer is the one with all the talent and this clown keeps trying to steal the limelight. This he said on his own also in past articles and it is also on things like wikipedia. I'd make fun of this (and trust me, in my mind I have over and over), but I can't help remembering a Smashing Pumpkins show in 1994 when I thought it was so cool to get body passed, and I was chucked into the gap between the crowd and the band, and a security guard jacked me in the kidneys about five times and then tossed me back. I looked up at Billy Corgan and pleaded with him to save me...and he simply kept pouring his heart out to "Siva." Fuck him. I was once abandoned by my rock idols, so I will not criticize when rock idols (for a certain large hipped adolscent cock-obsessed self-hating female demographic...crap, I did make fun of this)save people.

What's with all the FOB hate? I know that they're not the greatest band ever (or indie enough or rock enough or punk enough). But have any of you ever been to a show of theirs? I went years ago- and I mean years, it was a tiny Chicago show in 2002- and they were so into it. They made music because they wanted to, not for money. I'm sure that they've changed with the fame, but does anyone ever give them credit for anything?

Dude. Wentz was decking a big security guard for taking down one of the roadies trying to stop the aforementioned security guards from decking one of the girls onstage (FOB invited kids onstage for the last song of the set). Give him a break.

I really despise Wentz, but I got to give it up to him for decking the guard. The security at rock shows are usually just brawny meat-heads (and sometimes ex-cons) that have no formal training and just like to crack heads. Although, if Pete hit me, I'd moyda him. so since fob's new single wasn't that warmly received, they (or obviously just pete wentz) had to resort to another cheap gimmick to get people's attention (just like peengate - "oh my gawd, my sidekick got hacked! - yeah, right). of course dumb little girls are praising "the hero" pete. i hope they'll realize that pete wentz and his publicity stunts are merely a diversion to cover up the atrocity of fob music.
