Polkarama 2006

The polka medley is actually our favorite part of the last few 'Weird Al' CDs. WHAT SONG IS HE GONNA DO NEXT?! LOL!. So, if you'll forgive two Yankovic posts in 24 hours, check out the fan-made video for "Polkarama," featuring all your favorite hits from the past year transcribed for accordian. (Via Idolator.)

Also check out a pretty interesting interview at RS.

I've hated Wierd Al for years now, but i actually sort of enjoyed this. Maybe because for a change, he wasn't replacing random words with "fart."

ummm i don't know Weird Al to use the word "fart" in his songs at all (ADMITTEDLY i haven't searched the lyrics of his entire back catalog), though I can say it has definitely never been his style to use it to "replace random words."

Oh, what has become of me...I don't recognize all of those songs, and I didn't know what "White & Nerdy" was parodying (though I wasn't alone, and someone else asked and was answered on that one)

Anyone want to provide a rundown?

That, and after listening to this, I think Modest Mouse needs an accordion player. Hell, while Brock & Co are enlisting veterans like Marr, maybe they can sign Al himself up to do it.

I watched that whole thing waiting for Weird Al to say "nigga." Damnit.

I think Music Times was thinking of the many, many parody songs on the internet that are *falsely* attributed to "Weird Al." IE: Oops, I Farted Again.

Though, admittedly, he does use the term "farty pants" in You're Pitiful.

I'd like to know who did the original song to that piece in Polkarama "And go flying at the speed of sound" I think that might actually be a good song. anyone know who did that or the name of it.

That song you're asking about J.E. is Speed of Sound by Coldplay. It's on their X & Y album.
