Radiohead Cover Neil Young
About a week ago Thom and Jonny sidled up to the front of the White River Amphitheatre stage in Auburn, WA for just your typical "Faust Arp" duet. Except Thom forgot the words. After having an embarrassed laugh, he took the moment to shift into After The Gold Rush cut "Tell Me Why." Only they couldn't quite make it through that one, either. Eventually they got through the the originally intentioned In Rainbows lullaby and proceeded to blow everyone's minds through the rest of the concert probably, but sometime between then and last night, Yorke and Greenwood decided to right their wrong and do Neil Young proper justice, being for the benefit of the Hollywood Bowl and, naturally, YouTube.
Here it is in MP3 form (hats off to Gorilla Vs. Bear for unearthing on this one):
Radiohead - "Tell Me Why" (MP3)
Thom and Jonny know their covers.

Gorgeous.
It almost sounds like it could be a radiohead song

Show was great, probably a little better than the night before. I was up in the 2nd row and right before the show Jared Leto tried to sneak in near us. Security stopped him. He went on a tirade and pulled out all the "do you know who I am" shit that you would expect him to do. It didn't work and they carted him away. What a douche. What. A. Douche.
Score = 9
maybe if he didn't tell them who he was they would have let him stay
Score = 10
who is jared leto?
creep is overrated
i've played it too much on rockband. and i cant seem to get the notes right.
i dont really like neil young...but i dig rthis radiohead cover
lollapalooza was a disaster...radiohead was amazing. i could have been in the front row, but i had to see the black keys instead of gogol bordello. this meant that i missed being in the front to see thom and touch him. and i missed bloc party's greatness. but i saw bloc party at HOB afterparty. missed css for the third time tho cuz HOB is so far from grant park- we walked. anyway, im bitter and want to see radiohead again! what i saw from them was heaven and perfection..but not close enough. fucking lolla crowd.

If you haven't heard it before, Radiohead's cover of Cinnamon Girl is also pretty outstanding.

They've also covered After the Gold rush and On the Beach which I recommend you check out also.

Freaking amazing night, they also played True Love Waits before Everything in Its Right Place. Really good vibe and the band was in great form
Score = -1
It was better in Seattle for the simple fact that it was a recovery song for mistakes Thom made while singing Faust Arp.
That, and Phil ran on stage to jokingly put a dollar at the feet of Thom.

Hey! You spelled my name wrong. WTF?

Oh my goodness. Please tell me that you have the rest of this concert in mp3 form and that you will post them?

Beautiful! Two of my all time favorite artists. And what an amazing album After the Gold Rush is! Ever here this one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fAz54YWw6I

Jesus, the audience is obnoxious.

I hear you, but there's nothing I can do.

I know, almost as bad as the crowd at the Lollapalooza set.

Does anyone have the rest of the show on Mp3? It was unbelievable. I had crappy seats (section Q), but even from there it was sublime. Then we moved 2/3rds of the way down in teh first encore and loved it even more. I even bought a poster, though it wasn't that great. The things music makes you do!
Seriously though, Radiohead need to get a better merch designer.

You do realize Thom himself is responsible for a good deal of the art, right?

neil young + radiohead= heaven.

Oh man, so funny!-the Niel Young part was very short. Ed got too close to Thom (and i think like bit his ear or something?) and Thom like backed off. Goes to show Thom is human...The show was amazing i was there that night though i couldn't get pit tickets- it was still fucking radiohead! Auburn is a mess during a show night.

i think i speak for the hold steady and the silver jews when i say 'we're fucking idiots for saying radiohead suck.'

I'm trying to find a good version of Prince's cover of the Radiohead song "Creep." The few I've found are either crappy audio or crappy video or both. Any suggestions?

you know? actually at the show this was the only time the audience was annoying, i really noticed among every other show i've ever been to it's stood out how respectful the whole audience was. everyone was there to see Radiohead and no one was annoying, there was just such a feeling of love in the audience the whole time this was the only time things kind of loosened up.

GOD! Why did I have to leave to go on vacation before that concert. I planned on going. I'm pissed.
