R.E.M. Cover Editors (And Vice Versa)

thumbnail icon: R.E.M. Cover Editors (And Vice Versa)

No longer ambiguous about his sexuality (or that of his bandmates), Michael Stipe can now afford to be ambiguous about his song selections. On Radio 1 Live Lounge recently, Stipe and Co. took on Editors' "Munich." The box percussion, toe tapping, and Michael's "with one hand" gestures are great. Actually, it's a good cover in general: This means you, too, Mike and Peter.

Is this an endorsement or are they just repaying the Brits the favor for covering "Orange Crush" enough times that the recorded version, which shows up as a b-side to "Blood," made it onto The OC? Speaking of which, As you watch this, try not to get too emotional.

But how can you not?

they say a good song is only a good song if it can be stripped down to basics and still sound good.

This video just shows how shitty that song really is.

Who says that?

And what are these basics you refer to?

No matter how often you repeat that stripped-down statement, it doesn't become any less dumb.

If I recall correctly, I only said it once.
But here's another one, just for you sweetheart: "they say a good song is only a good song if it can be stripped down to basics and still sound good."
did it do anything for you that time?

Leti it be known: I hate the fucking Editors.

That said, your comment is still dumb.

Steve Reich, Thurston Moore, Brian Eno and Richard D. James all concur.

the fact that you're aggressively defending the Editors leads me to believe you have your fair share of "shitty" songs on your own ipod. Don't worry about me.
