Rihanna And Klaxons' "Umbrella" Collaboration Is MDMAzing

No, we didn't expect to engage in so much midnight Brit blogging, either. But after teasing the award show's most headscratchingest song-meld ("Umbrella" + "Golden Skans"), we knew this, at least, would be something worth a post. The reigning Mercury Prize winners sported outfits by pill-poppers, for pill-poppers and merged their tune's backbeat and "oooh"s and "oh"s (down a key or two) with Ri's Song That Refuses To Die. The results? Better than her mesh with the muthafuckin Time, if only for that crazy laser prism pyramid stage set. Also, Rihanna is taller than you.

We like that she did something weird by performing with Klaxons. But she really needs to retire that song now.

so it turns out that Klaxons can do a decent live show after all -- they just need to make sure they've got Daft Punk's set and Rhianna on vox in future.

After the Manic Street Preachers debacle, I never wanted to hear this song again, but this wasn't bad.

All they did was ripoff the M83 / Rhianna mash-up... very, very badly. Truly, one of the shittiest bands in the Milky Way.

Ripping off Daft Punk? Oh yeah that's right, they invented lasers back in 1998. You hipsters are going to shit your pants if you ever discover Pink Floyd.
