Rilo Kimmel

Jenny, Blake and the rest of the Kiley kids hit up Jimmy Kimmel last night with their Fleetwood-y "Dreamworld." Who are the extra chicks onstage? Guess it's their tour force. Sennett's dashing in bow tie and all, but not enough Jenny cam time, wethinks. Trippy backdrop, though! Nice congas.

They played "Moneymaker" at the outro, which should go live at ABC pretty soon.

There is no doubt that Jenny agreed to do "Dreamworld" so that Blake would stop wining about being second fiddle. I'm tired of him.

The lovely lady on the congas is Kristin from the opening act of the RK tour that kicks off tonight. They're called Grand Ole Party from San Diego and Kristin is the singer/drummer. They are fan-effing-tastic and I suggest you check it out.

the whole rilo kiley tour lineup is pretty damn good. grand ole party rules as does rilo kiley and the bird and the bee.

as for the performance, they didn't need the back up singers. i could barely hear jenny.

one thing i've always enjoyed about jenny and the kileys is that they rarely play singles in their tv performances (and sometimes, not even album-tracks). wonder what they'll be playing on SNL in a couple weeks.

SHUT UP PAT.

"DREAMWORLD" IS THE BEST SONG ON THE NEW ALBUM. MAYBE THATS WHY THEY PLAYED IT.

I AM TIRED OF JENNY LEWIS ALWAYS GETTING ALL THE ATTTENTION. SHE HAS A NICE VOICE AND EVERYONE KNOWS SHE IS HOT,BUT SO WHAT. SHE WOULDN'T EVEN BE IN RILO KILEY IF IT WASN'T FOR BLAKE.

THE ELECTED ARE BETTER ANYWAY

I've been hearing a lot of talk about "Dreamworld" being the concession track of the album, but it's also the best track. Sure, it's like a first-cousin to Lindsey Buckingham's "Trouble", but it's a smooth piece of work. A prediction: since both "The Moneymaker" and "Silver Lining" have made almost no traction, I think this song just might be the breakout hit.

Stranger things have happened.

My first reaction: I missed them last night? Damn.
My second reaction: They played the one song on the album I hate? Glad I missed it. That is a badly written song.

Are there any WELL written Rilo Kiley songs?...

I think this song sounds better live. I've heard that about a lot of the album actually. And yay for people liking Grand Ole Party!

did you see Mario Hilton being interviewed on Kimmel? He is so pathetic and desperate.

i'm no huge blake/elected fan, but this really is the only good song on the album.

Jenny should just leave the band. They're boring. Stay away from the mic, Blake. If Jenny would incorporate more diversity into her solo work, there would be no need for Kiley.

The chorus to that song is terrible, by the way. The whole song would be good, if Jenny sung it. It's forgettable otherwise.

Blake always looks like he's pissed off and on the verge of a hissy fit. I kid you not - it's those same smug looks that keep me away from Rilo Kiley.

Riley Kilo is probably one of the most overrated overhyped boring pieces of garbage right now. That song was so uneventful, the guitarist totally blew the solo and the singing is subpar.

There are so many rad bands right now, but it seems like The Rolling Stone and crappy publications want every band to have a girl or two in it, which means more sleepy, less rockin...BORING SHID!

i don't watch his show much, but I was there at the taping last night and he seemed off his game. The interviews were just .. lame and then at the end of the show he came out on stage and whispered something like: "Don't tell anybody about this. It'll be our secret" or something strange like that. Rilo was good, though. They played Dreamworld, moneymaker, portion for foxes, it's a hit then some acoustic thing. i dont know if the songs are just leftovers from their solo albums, but the album just isn't that interesting.

I enjoy Blake, though I'm not the hugest fan of that particular song. Interesting choice to play.

Last nights show in SF was fantastic. Don't worry there is plenty of Jenny. She even sang some Rabbit Fur Coat. The line-up was great. Mr. Ben Gibbard came out to sing at the end of Johnathan Rice's set, and could be seen watching the rest of the show from stage left.
