Rumor Has It That Kevin Costner's Got A Band

More thespian forays into rock land. The Kevin Costner Band (yes, it exists) is the featured act at the upcoming California Speedway, news we were happy to ignore ... until our friends at Popwatch dug up footage of Kevin performing with Lisa Loeb! After that, plug your ears and watch this clip of Kevin destroying "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance." Best of all: The concert was at the Field Of Dreams site!

... and Shoeless Joe was never to emerge from the cornfields again.

"The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance", you mean. I didn't think it was terrible. Just unremarkable and bland.

After that movie "The Postman" Kevin Costner has creative license to do whatever he wants and I for one couldn't be happier.

Dunno if it matters to anyone reading this, but Kevin Costner's band mostly only plays charity gigs. I know because I work for a not-for-profit that benefitted from one. We asked him if he'd do something to help us raise funds, he played a gig for 2,200 people. I thought it was pretty amazing.

My initial comments were a little harsh. Actually, the music is ok, just a bit bland--but since its all in fun, who cares. Pretty hip they do charities.

He didn't destroy shit. That song has been fucking horrendous since the day it was conceived.

I'm gonna go watch No Way Out.

He's looking a little shakey on that G, tho he is in propper form for lightning quick changes to C!

Went to California Speedway to see a car race, passed by the stage, sign said Kevin Costner's Band to perform at 9:45am, this I got to see. I was as sceptical as most about what to expect, but let me tell you, my friends and I thought they were GREAT, they were very energetic, he got the crowd to gather, and stand in the morning cold for just shy of an hour, and played some really cool original songs, and some familiar ones as well. Koudos to Kevin for a wonderful show.

Ok, this was NOT the man I heard last night in St Petersburg Florida. Mr. Costner was amazing. All the songs were original, he played about 15 of them. And you could understand all the lyrics. He was a man that was humble and kind, yet an air of confidence. Everyone in the band was happy and having fun. LOL, what you have posted was altered because this is not the band I witnessed last night. I am surfing the net now to buy the CD. I had so much fun last night and HOPE he returns to Florida. Every person in this band displayed quality and talent and were happy to all be playing together. Shame on the management of this site for allowing this. You don't give Mr. Costner a disservice you do this all yourself. And don't be fooled, we have name bands in St Pete all the time! We are the correct judge of what characterizes real rock in roll and all of Costner's band was great. He really cared that we understood the meaning of a song coming up and the story behind it, which we all really appreciated. But more than anything I appreciated that he took this craft seriously, but managed to have fun at the same time. He wanted to make a "memory" of the night, and he succeeded. I had so much fun! :)
