Ryan Adams Does "Fix It" & "Cobwebs" For Mr. Letterman

thubmnail icon: Ryan Adams Does "Fix It" & "Cobwebs" For Mr. Letterman

For those losers with jobs who couldn't make it to SoHo on their Tuesday lunch breaks, Ryan made his second public appearance this week, at the Ed Sullivan Theater, saying hello to his friend and fan Mr. Letterman for last night's Late Show. Like when DR Adams visited Dave in those long gone Easy Tiger days, Team Letterman banked on the web appeal of the loony Tumblr mascot by airing one song and setting aside another aside for some web-exclusive pageviews boosting. To start here's the televised portion: Cardinology's "Fix It," in which Ryan rocks gently while sporting some mussed brown hair, far from his blond/metal days (Iron Maiden shirt notwithstanding).

Head to the Dave's dubya dubya for a performance of the new record's great track "Cobwebs," which comes off really well (maybe a mistake to choose this one for the bonus web bait). Take it to the end for a nice good night from ever avuncular Dave. Cardinology is out via Lost Highway.

Great performance. Was wondering what the deal with the huge amp was. But I think it's just a prop, because it's not plugged in. Ryan Adams does use two of the smaller versions of that amp, the Fender Princeton Reverb, so I guess he has them mic'd up behind it.

You could see the rest of his Princeton Reverbs jumbled behind Neil and Jon's setups. He is actually up to three Princeton Reverbs these days.

That amp is a prop from Neil Young's Live Rust tour film.

Absolutely brilliant performance. The Cardinals continue to shine and shine in a live setting.

He looks more extremely hot than Rick Moranis-y to me. Is it just me, or is he so much better looking since he got sober?
