Ryan Adams Goes Blond, Metal

Look, we've already confessed to having a mild addiction to furiously refreshing Ryan's Tumblr feed. So admittedly, we reblog the guy a lot ... but whatever you think of the man, damn if he's not entertaining. Last night he decided to blow the dust off of his metal alter-ego, Werewolph, complete with pendant and coif. It looked like this...

...and sounded like this:

That would be enough for most singer-songwriters and their hair on a Thursday night. But not our dear D.R., who grabbed a bottle of peroxide in service of getting Lily with it. And liveblogged it. He looks like Andy Warhol:

Obviously that's not lost on him.

But it wasn't JUST dressing in metal gear and making a metal video and liveblogging a hair bleaching session. Ryan "couldn't get backstage" at the opening of the John Varvatos store (which was "s.t.u.p.i.d.," btw), as in the one that is on the site of CBGB. So instead of groveling, he ended his night with a video entitled "Clowns Is Evil":

Give up? "this is an experimental movie about the break up between derek jeter and mariah carey. god forgive us all."

Whatever, it's Ryan. What did you do last night?

The second video, Clowns Is Evil, reminded me of the Stones - I liked the cut.

Also, it's not the first time Ryry has gone blonde:

I love how Ryan Adams has a music making style of basically "throwing it against the wall and seeing what sticks" Unfortunately nothing ever sticks.

.....and cue the backlash

I think he looks a little like Japan-era David Sylvian, especially in the colour pics...

Werewolph video probably the funniest thing I've seen online in ages. It just keeps going on!

Didn't this guy say that he was completely clean nowadays? Hmmm....

Ryan Adams needs to get a day job.

Ryan Adams doesn't need a day job, he's making the day jobs of many of us more enjoyable with his blogging. Those metal videos are wildly entertaining, and quite a lot of his art work/poems that he's posted have been beautiful and evocative. I guess you either love or hate him. I don't get the haters, but each to their own.

Oh Mike...that's just sad. Can't someone appreciate something without being suspected of being the artist anymore? Ridiculous. I love the dude, his blog makes my day more enjoyable...oh shit, does that mean I am Ryan Adams too? I only wish I had half of the talent in one of his little fingers, I might be set for life then.

The state of ryan adams right now is quite tragic. I agree with the person that said he should get a day job. It seems he spends too much time obsessing about himself. He's going crazy! he comes across as an artist that will end up committing suicide.
Its disturbing to see such a talented person waste their life like this.
Go out and help people and stop moping around the house oogling at pictures of yourself!!!!! (that's just in case he's reading.. ;p)

His blog and vimeo account have been deleted. I hope he's okay. I enjoyed foggy, but the last few days have been pretty dark, especially last night. I'm worried about him.
