Scott Weiland Is Still In Bad Shape

thumbnail icon: Scott Weiland Is Still In Bad Shape

As we continue documenting the downfall of grunge's old guard, it's worth noting Scott Weiland's still a mess. Velvet Revolver might be reduced to joining forces with Spacehog, but Weiland recently joined forces with Eric Kretz's drum kit. The Arizona Republic reports that at STP's 7/29 show at the Dodge Theatre in Phoenix, Weiland appeared on stage before the rest of his band and mumbled about Velvet Revolver, forgot lyrics to certain tracks, mumbled others, and fell backwards into Kretz's kit. We have video of the mumbling and the stumble.

Which goes first, the Weiland or the Winehouse?

It looked better when Jim Morrison did it.

His jeans are way too tight. How old is he?

Painful. I was at the infamous PNC Arts Center show a few months ago, and this is even worse than that debacle.

"Which goes first, the Weiland or the Winehouse?"

I'm a man who enjoys himself some morbid humor, but this seems like a bit much. Probably because it's conceivable that they could off each other at the same time.

Agreed. Dehumanizing the pronoun takes it another step too far.

I saw STP play a gig at a T-Mobile party in LA last Friday, and I gotta say, despite some rough raspiness in his voice, Weiland pretty much rocked it. Brought me right back to 1995. There' sno doubt he's a fuckup as far as drugs, but hopefully he'll keep it together for the sake of his kids, and uhm, "rock."

Oh, and funny story. He was mingling among the partygoers for awhile before the show, with three massive bodyguards behind him. They didn't stop any fans from approaching and chatting with Scott (who was very welcoming and nice)... i gather they were just there to stop him from running off or getting into trouble.

::plugs ears and closes eyes:: He just needs to stay ALIVE until Friday night. He can die after I hear Plush then.

Yea dude, I was at the PNC show too. Quite a disappointment. Here's one of my childhood heroes...an absolute train wreck.
