Spiritualized To Letterman: "You Lie, You Cheat"

thumbnail icon: Spiritualized To Letterman: "You Lie, You Cheat"

You know who's doing great these days? David Letterman's music talent booker. For those too groggy to stay up (ahem), J. Pierce brought the white-on-white and background singers and beautiful cacophony featured at recent live shows to CBS late night. As usual, waiting for the post-performance Letterman interaction is half the fun. This time: Letterman leaves Spaceman hanging.

Previously in "You Lie, You Cheat": A video in which the hero lies, and cheats. Songs In A&E is out.

That's funny. Years ago, Spiritualized were on Leno, and Pierce left him hanging, and Leno got PISSED!

Yeah Letterman kinda left J hanging there for a second but he got back the handshake. Letterman seemed cool about it as opposed to Leno who takes that shit personally. Another reason Letterman is far superior than Leno.

Leno represents all that is wrong with television. Letterman represents all that is right.

I wonder why, of all the american late night guys, Letterman always seems to get the best performances?
You'd think Conan with his younger base would. Or even Kimmel with set-up being more like a traditional concert.
Whats REALLY crazy is Letterman has the worst sound guys it seems.

Whatever, Letterman is the funniest of them anyway so I'm happy that he gets such good performances. I've rarely seen a band turn in a better performance on one of his competitors after they play letterman.

even He still doesnt get it as good as Jools Holland.

I think that O'Brien and Letterman are about equal as far as getting musical talent goes, and I would disagree that Letterman is the funniest. IMO:

1. Conan
2a. Letterman
2b. Kimmel
3. Craig Ferguson
4. Leno

P.S. - good performance, but it is NEVER okay to wear sunglasses indoors.

He wore that shirt at the Music Hall of Williamsburg show, too.

Actually, Conan O'Brien has some of the funniest handshake mistakes. I remember when Jurassic 5 or someone like that was on years ago, one of the guys tried giving him one of those hipster handshakes and he had no idea what to do with it. He ended up holding on to the guy's thumb or something.
