Spoon Cover Paul Simon
In March, Spoon debuted a cover of Paul Simon's "Peace Like A River" for radio contest winners in Annapolis. There is an excellent video of it here. (Add Spoon to the list of indie rock Paul Simon admirers.) Today you can get a takeaway version thanks to Daytrotter. They also do "I Can See the Dude," "Back To The Life," and Ga standout "The Ghost Of You Lingers," which is haunting (pun). Daytrotter's Sean Moeller on Spoon River: "A Paul Simon cover here lends the line, 'I'm gonna be up for a while,' and it seems to sum up the general itinerary for collecting the material needed to see not only the most authentically bastardized and ravenous aspects of the human condition, but then to see them turn seconds later into the buds of things that could be taken into the heart and not mess anything up."
