Not The New Spoon Video - "The Ghost Of You Lingers"

Why does everybody think this vid is official? We have our doubts about that, though the hot-fudge melt of the keyboard's ebonies is a fitting image for the excellent single's dysmorphic piano stabbing.

Here's the straight Spoon scoop:

The next (first?) vid from Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga will be for "The Underdog," directed by Keven McAlester (of the Roky Erickson documentary You're Gonna Miss Me) and produced by Ghost Robot (they of Grizzly Bear's "Knife" vid fame). So the liquefied pianos-shtick was just a triptastic warm-up, Spoon lovers.

That music video is terrific.

Whoa, since when did Spoon become all spaced-out and Thom Yorke-ish? I'm gonna reserve judgement until I hear the rest of the new record, but I'm not sure I can fully endorse that one song.

And if that was indeed an official video, they should hire some professionals to do it next time, as opposed to people who probably haven't graduated film school yet, judging from that clip.

Wow. What an annoying song.

By far the best song on the album.

Good song, no way is it an actual single though. I don't think even college radio would put that in rotation.

"We have our doubts about that, though the hot-fudge melt of the keyboard's ebonies is a fitting image for the excellent single's dysmorphic piano stabbing."

...?...

P4K would KILL for that sentence.

Liam, it is the only such song on the album, and curiously placed at track number 2. The rest of the record is the standard Spoon fare.

This song is terrible. I'm damned open-minded and willing to accept a lot of things, but I just can't stand this thing. There's nothing to it. It's one of the most useless songs I've heard in recent years. Not an exaggeration, by the way.

I really like that song (except for the couple of trembly noise production effects), moreso than any other stuff I've heard by this band. Nice 'n' atmospheric.

Song absolutely has to be heard on headphones to be appreciated. And good headphones, not the piece of crap earbuds. And if you're a little high, it's even better. An unreal song. Quit complaining, complainers.

I'm a huge Spoon fan, I have been for like five years, and I think that "Ghost" is probably the best song on the record. Thank God this record isn't another Gimme Fiction.

Sounds like Lansing-Dreiden, not Spoon

The album is really great but this song does not deserve to be the single

This is like listening to my own heartbeat, hearing my darkest emotions translated into sound.
Yep, it does sound like Britt absconded with Thom Yorke's brain.. and strangely, the result is addictive, entrancing.
I haven't had a single song repeating for days like this- ever.

I'd never even heard of Spoon before this album, I like the whole thing but this song is mesmerizing. I've been addicted to it for weeks. I even love the trembly noise production effects...
