Springsteen's "Wrecking Ball" Kicks Off Giants Stadium's Last Stand
As you might have heard, the Meadowlands (aka Giants Stadium) is going to be demolished following this year's football season. As you might have also heard, NJ Ambassador Bruce Sprinsgteen is playing a series of shows there to mark the occasion. They'll be the final concerts in the space. To make it epic, each night has a different set list and will include the performance of a complete album from start to finish, Don't Look Back-style. Last night (9/30), the first of the five Giants Stadium performances, it was Born To Run, but he opened with a new site-specific track, "Wrecking Ball," which was "in honor of the imminent demolition of the longtime home of giants and Giants." The first night at Giants Stadium began with an ode to creative destruction and indestructibility and ended with "Rosalita" and fireworks. In between, of course, was the entire Born To Run.

Incredible show Wed night. I saw U2 twice last week at the same place and I must say, Bruce & Co. blew them away. Better show, cheaper tickets, no gimmicks, way more fun, no crappy opening act, played a classic album plus another 2 hours & 25 minutes of music, over an hour more than u2. This guy just turned 60? I am a big U2 fan but no comparrison.
