Tegan And Sara And Walla

Didn't expect it after our first listen, but Tegan & Sara's The Con is shaping up to be one of '07's many bright spots. Constantly catch someone spinning the irresistible cuts "I Was Married," "Relief Next To Me," "Nineteen," or "Floorplan" on the StereogumHQ jukebox, each ripe for single treatment. Head to MySpace to stream the record if you haven't spent time with it yet, and click the little YouTube play button below to see the girls debate prospective album titles (Sara wanted it to be Sugar, Spell It Out) and watch producer Chris "Polyethylene" Walla help shape the killer title track. The three really bonded! Cue in at 3:30 and 4:30 for Chris's none-too-subtle wardrobe choice. Long lost triplet? Just a hair-dye job away, dear Walla.

More T&S Video Chapters ("Hop A Plane," "Back In Your Head") after the jump.

"Hop A Plane"

"Back In Your Head"

The Con is out tomorrow on Sire.

this is definitely one of my favorite releases of the year. never would've expected them to improve so much after the pretty mediocre so jealous.

Wow. Jason has a thick beard now. Well actually he has that for over a year.

I don't like Tegan and Sara but loving Walla. I can't wait for his solo release. I already like his 90's cassettes

I'm really looking forward to this record. "So Jealous" has been in my iTunes rotation for a couple of years now. I love Chris Walla's production work on the Death Cab and the Decemberists records. I can't wait to hear what he does with Tegan and Sara's songs.

I actually think they pull off the mullets surprisingly well.. I think it suits them. Their new album is amazinggg, I fell even more in love with them after listening to it, and I didn't think that was possible.

Sara and tegan are the most self-absorbed unoriginal talentless ugly freaks I have ever seen please tell them we don't give a sh-- about their opinions on music get them off mtv and tv in general they are gross and obnoxious.

wow um fuck you

they are seriously my favorite band by far, and i bet you watch mtv 24/7 hoping that britney spears or ashlee simpson come on, instead of the most talented, funny, and beautiful girls in the world. sorry tegan and sara aren't some stupid bitches, but actually have a sense of humor. sorry they bicker which each other and are actually human. sorry they actually write and coproduce their own songs. and do you know what, sorry that they actually dare to be different from the fucked up music you hear on the radio.

I have this DVD , it's pretty amazing! What can I say, the girls did a great job. I couldn't be more excited to see them working with Walla, Matt, Hunter(as I'm a fan of AFI for a quite SOME time:) ), Jason - a total pro on drums! ( especially I liked his beats on "floorplan" and "nineteen").
AND I'm so happy they AREN'T on MTV,or any other shitty mainstream bullshit (because it's not what it used to be..trash is considered as a talent now, oh well). Anyway, different people, different music taste, it's stupid to argue about it. But I'm kinda proud I'm into Indie, because independent music bands are actually bringing something interesting, something that makes sense.

wow tegan and sara are the 2 ugliest canadians alive, they really make me feel bad because well I'm canadian and most canadian women are hot, these 2 make Thom yorke from radiohead look pretty ( he is a great singer but even he admits he is ugly).

And enough with the fucking mullet, it was disgusting in the 70's and 80's whoever brought it back should be shot, The worst is mullets with lines shaved into them :S
