The Most Exhausted Midget In The Game

When reader Igor wrote in this weekend to tell us that Lady Sov bailed after just two songs of her late-night set at the Pull-Out Method party at Studio B Friday night, it felt like the tenth time we've gotten this sort of email over the past year. Does this girl ever not breakdown? Here's what Igor had to say about the situation:

Last night at the FUN party at Studio B Lady Sov didn’t get on stage until after 3 AM. As she was waiting to go on stage she started setting paper on fire. She got up on stage and the first thing she said was that this was the smallest crowd she had played to in “a long time”. This probably had something to do with the fact that people waited two hours for her to go on. She then played Love Me or Hate Me but she didn’t sing the choruses. Then she proceeded to say she was just here for the money. She said she was broke and didn’t want to go on. She was like “I don’t know what I am doing, what song is next?” Then she did another song and just sort of broke down. She said that she had been playing the same songs for two years and that she was sick of it. She told the audience that we couldn’t possibly understand. She then was like “fuck this, I don’t care if I don’t get paid” and walked off the stage after a quick talk with her DJ.
But it wasn't 'til this vid popped in our mailbox that it seemed worth a post, 'cause Igor told no lies. She needs some donations, a year off, and a big big hug.

Why does this look so familiar? Oh, right. She did the exact same thing in San Francisco last year...

What is it with these cocky young women going out on the road and not being able to cope with it all? (Lily is the other one, though to a lesser extent.) I mean, seriously, what the fuck? These people need help.

I really don't get these young, bitchy English women who have been handed careers on silver platters, and then don't think enough of their fans to show up sober or even complete their damn live shows. For all I care, their rude, talentless asses can stay across the pond!

Oh and by the way Lady Sov, every doctor on earth will tell you that touring in America is not a known cause for depression or exhaustion, but has been known to cause a shitty attitude or two!

Wow. I don't think I've ever felt so sorry for a popular musician. She really looks sad.

lol, same old same old. Perhaps she'll pull a Winehouse and show up a couple years later looking like a skeleton with hair?

Even if I could see the vid, I wouldn't - too embarrassing - but she did an okay job in Tampa, FL's Ampitheater when she opened for Gwen. Maybe it was the palm trees and nice weather that calmed her ass down.

ok...

before i throw my 'me too" in here, let's get one thing perfectly clear: it's not strictly a "british" or "female" thing. it just so happens that the most recent instances have followed that pattern.

that said...fuck her..."random" was hot. after that, downhill.

i feel really bad for her. she has so much pressure on her shoulders to perform a good show and like she said, she didn't have new material. if you had to do the exact same thing over and over again for a year, that would be exhausting too. she is a normal human being, maybe more famous than others, yes, but i still pity her. i can see that she's depressed and i just hope that she can relax for a bit and get back to what she does best.
