The Song Remains The Same ... Unless You Can Get Zep To Cover It With You. Then It Becomes Much More Awesome.

People in London are flipping their wigs, figuratively and probably literally too, at the news of the Foos show Saturday night in Wembley stadium. Billboard.com reports on This Moment In Rock History:

Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones turned an already high-profile Foo Fighters show into a once-in-a-lifetime event Saturday night (June 7) at London's Wembley Stadium, joining the Foos for covers of Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll" and "Ramble On."

Taylor Hawkins sang "Rock And Roll," and Grohl took vocals on "Ramble On." Dave later told the crowd that it was "the greatest day of my entire life" because duh. Take it away, super loud YouTube clips:

"ROCK AND ROLL

"RAMBLE ON"

Now that is a tour rider I'd like to see. Topic for discussion: Taylor makes a better Plant than does Grohl. And would be interesting to hear sing on more Foo Fighters stuff ("Cold Day In The Sun" and "I Feel Free" notwithstanding). Go.

Taylor does a better Plant than Plant has done in many many years.

Did Dave have to use a cheat sheet for the lyrics? You think he would already know the words.

That would have been incredible to see. I wonder why Dave sang "Ramble on" if he didn't know the words.

I'm almost 98% certain I heard Led Zeppelin rehearsing in NYC (56th & 111th) about 2 weeks ago.

not a bad week for Dave. start it with a beatle and ending it with zeppelin.

Cool to see. Couple of the boys from Rush joined Foo here in Toronto when they passed thr. That will go down as one of my greatest "concert-missess" for sure.

Watch one of the videos from far away and look at all of the camera flashes going off from the upper levels... what are they thinking? Really will my flash make things brighter from row 129 ?

see you in the front row!

Good for Taylor...he just needs to work on his frontman skills.
