Throw Me The Statue Take Away On A Ferry
In a chillier Take Away, BTW Throw Me The Statue bundle up and hop on a ferry outside of Seattle to play two of our favorite Moonbeams songs, "Lolita" and "About To Walk." Interestingly, when we first spoke about the band we mentioned that in "About To Walk" you should "watch how it opens to more frizzled Guided By Voices territories" and described "Lolita" like "Bob Pollard's beloved Kinks asking us to, please, come dancing." (Big ups to Nabokov while we're at it.) Only interesting because for song number three, TMTS opted to cover Guided By Voices' "My Valuable Hunting Knife." Fate! Here 'tis.
Oh how we loved that song in its original form. The two aforementioned Moonbeams after the jump.
"Lolita"
"About To Walk"

these dudes are dreamy in that perfect northwest way...sleepy eyed, bundled up like fishermen and lumberjacks, and prone to riding on ferries. oh and their music kinda rules too. :)
