While I'm not going to this festivus, I can't say enough about Calexico. I saw them in Philly a couple of months ago, and am catching them in Iowa City at the end of September. Their music translates well to a live setting.

It's cool to see Arcwelder on the lineup, though.

It'd be quicker to list the bands I'm not all that exicted about than it'd be to list my must-sees.

Chicago, here I come.

My friend is helping with the promo on this ... when he told me "Big Black" was playing I was really excited ... but then when I heard that "Man ... Or Astroman?" was getting back together to play that show ... I had a heart attack, in fact I'm writing this from the hospital as I ... BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP

Arcwelder - very cool. Very underrated band from the pre-Nirvana signing rush. Humble and working-class and just flat-out excellent.

But some of the other reunions are so far beyond "wow" it's amazing. Too bad Slint sold all that equipment after their ATP reunion, because they should be on this bill.

And no Butthole Surfers? Jeeze, wonder what happened there. (hee, hee... look it up - the band that almost killed Touch and Go.)
