Trent Reznor To Australia: Steal My Shit
Back in May, Reznor blogged about UMG about setting the price of Year Zero in Australia at about $30 (USD). Trent took to his stump his last time in Australia, too, making news worldwide, but as this poll of his fans at Sydnye's Hordern Pavilion two nights ago suggests, prices remain at wallet-gouging levels. "You know what that means," says Rez. "Steal it! Steal, steal, and steal some more and give it to all your friends and keep on stealing."
Strong words! And a more effective practice of distributing free music than playing the bathroom stall Santa, sprinkling little tune-loaded USB drives in toilets around the world for good little boys and girls. (Bringing waterclosets into the equation just confuses the "steal my shit" imperative.) This is the first popular artist to publicly encourage piracy since ... Chumbawamba?

Saw him in Beijing less than 2 weeks ago for about $25US. Sorry to the Aussies, but I'd have to agree, that cd isnt worth stealing.

Fuck! I'm amped up now!
Their ticket prices are high as well, can he sneak me in for free? The t-shirt are kinda of pricey as well, I think I'll steal one when I sneak into his show.
What a rebel, Trent!

Don't miss Trent (in spirit) in the premiere of the CW's GOSSIP GIRL:

"Last year, Serena was mysteriously packed off to boarding school by her socialite mother, Lily (Kelly Rutherford) - best remembered by her ex as a floozy with 'her shoes up around her earrings' having sex with rocker Trent Reznor.
New to school are brother and sister Dan (Penn Badgley) and Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen), whose dad (Matthew Settle) is a former rock star (see Trent Reznor ref. above)."
