Wayne Coyne Sings With Goat, Lasers

This first clip is from the children's show Pancake Mountain. The Flaming Lip joins Rufus on a duet of our favorite guilty pleasure "We Built This City." Really, we love it even though it's the "worst song ever."

At The Flaming Lips' Hammerstein show on 9/24, the band decided to mix up their usual, aliens-and-santas confetti extravaganza by giving audience members laser pens, meant to be simultaneously directed at a giant mirror Wayne would hold up during "Vein Of Stars"...

But later, the trigger-happy crowd spontaneously directed their beams at a huge, white inflate-a-ball. You'll hear Wayne break song and say that it's "one of the coolest things I've ever seen," and our friends at the show whole-heartedly concur.

Always upping their game, those Lips! But listen to how he drawls, "Wow. Ohhh. That is just ... magic." Sometimes Wayne reminds us of Bob Ross.

I was there and that moment was beautiful. The pointers even eased the boredom in between sets (people were having (blinding) laser fights). There should be laser pointers at more concerts.

Wayne Coyne is a total ham....their sound is good, but his thirst for attention is almost sad.

Why such a hater, Miguel? Didn't you see the Willy Wonka wonder that he created at Lollapalooza?

Cool stuff. I really, really, REALLY want to see the Flaming Lips live, but they're setting foot nowhere near North Carolina.

By the way, was that Whose Line? alum Greg Proops as the voice of the goat?
