no need to have any of those songs on your ipod when even the easy-listening radio stations play them 12 times per hour.

I met Tyson and Nick from the All-American Rejects last year (before the release of Move Along), and they were very down-to-earth, normal people. They seem to be totally different now that they are "rock stars". I hate when people let fame go to their heads.

so a dude who makes the exact same music video over and over again gets the "video vangaurd?" i guess that's fitting.

What the fuck is the pitchfork leak? Would someone just talk about it instead of telling scott to talk about it?
And I really don't think it makes you indie to not have any of those songs on your ipod. I'll admit I had Gwen Stefani and Since U Been Gone on mine last year, but this year, goddamn it's bad.

I love people who trash musical genres to seem high and mighty in regards to said music. It's called musical taste for a reason, if it's not yours, nobody cares. the fact that you have none of those songs on your ipod doesn't affect my tastes one way or another, i don't feel more or less ashamed. thanks for sharing.

Jesus, Kyle, I don't think anyone meant for you to take so personally. What genre was trashed? Top 40? Is that a genre now?

i just love people who complain about people being high and mighty and then make comments that are high and mighty.

Wow, am I so out of touch with the mainstream that I can only identify one of these songs?
That being "Ridin," I think.
Is it all like "gonna catch me ridin' dirty" or something?
Fucking horrible.
No use being in touch with the mainstream, obviously.
What were the other nominees for ringtone of the year?
Ode to Joy?
Tone #5?
Who the fuck is Fort Minor?

What about the awards handed out at a seperate ceremony earlier in the day? Show some respect for the minor technicals, goddammit.

this is what happens when you let the public decide the winners. i feel bad for the likes of afi (come on now, they're not so bad) and kelly clarkson as they are on the same list of winners as bep, fob, pcd, aar, p!atd, etc. it's not exactly a distinguished thing to be lumped in.

i'm shocked xtina and shakira and red hot chili peppers didn't win anything. i thought they were big with the TRL audience. oh well, i guess their fans actually had lives and had better things to do than to actually sit on their computers and vote all day, which cannot be said for fans of say, fob.

Scott's been too busy listening to that new K. Fed track on his Ipod.

I have zero of the VMA-nominated songs on my Ipod, because I'm more Indie than Scott and most of you.

Why is Avenged Sevenfold winning an award for best new artist when they've been around since 2001, which is not new at all?

You guys are all such motherfuckers I'm trying REALLY HARD not to vomit right now. OK, clarifications on some past comments:
"Absolute Drivel"
So is yours, buddy. People who say "drivel" are either British or gay for P!ATD. Don't fight it.
You people are so closed-minded I'm leaving right now to go throw up.

what's even more confusing than feeling the need to express your indie cred on website like stereogum is why the VMAs even made it to this website ? We all know that MTV has turned into top40haven..and that's not why I visit this website . Save MTV for the rest of the internet to discuss, yes ?

why is there a hip-hop catagory AND a rap catagory?
but then only one rock catagory?
