We Have The Facts And We're Blogging Yes

We've heard rumors our beloved Death Cab For Cutie are 'Gum readers, but had to find out for ourselves. So last night we headed to Marquee (Lindsay Lohan's hangout!) for a Directions screening to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Sponsored by Amp'd Mobile, the event was hosted by funny guys John Krasinski (The Office) and Will Arnett (Arrested Development) who thanked Virgin Records. "I mean, Atlantic," Gob clarified. "Atlantic Records! ... We PUNK'D you Atlantic."

We made a bee-line for Nick and Ben.

Nick called Stereogum out on our Comicon post, but was very charming. We talked about Bonnaroo and how psyched we all are to see Tom Petty.

Meanwhile Mr. Gibbard wants to remind you that black Stereogum tees are available in the Stereogum store. If your band's last album debuted at #4, you get a 100% discount too.

Size

(To those who ordered: your shirts are going out Monday. Thanks!)

I agree that Nick is ugly, and I'm done with this site [sterogum]. I can see your obviously using Death Cab to sell your t-shirts, what a shill. You have Ben on your page with your T-shirt, TWICE ... good for you that he accepted a T-shirt, but you shouldn't ride their recent fame to sell the fucking things. BTW, Death Cab hasn't put out a good album since "the photo album".

Dead Red Eyes -- you seriously would stop reading a blog because that blog was (a) excited to have met a band it likes, and (b) trying to pay its bills? That seems a little silly. Stereogum and the other top blogs work their asses off on this. Let 'em have their moment. It's deserved. In the end, we're all just music fans.

Oh, no no no. Up until recently, the worst cut in the biz was Martin Gore. I'm really hoping someone finally said "Dude. What's up with the follicles?" and he went to a stylist. I'm not convinced it is going to last though.

What was G.O.B. doing there? This event wasn't sponsored by the Alliance of Magicians was it?

That's exactly what I was going to say. He looks ridiculous.

true, but perhaps the fact that he has freakishly uneven pupil dilation makes up for it?

in person, his hair looks better...

wait, i thought this was a music blog, not a place for the discussion of pretty heads of hair. get over it.

Anyone notice Will Arnett's gross Tom-Hanks-in-The-Da-Vinci-Code hair?

Wow. I think Death Cab's bassist's hair loses in the competition for distasteful hair.

And did you see Paris Hilton's hair at the club last night? OMG!!!!
It was so gross and her fashion sense...

Yeah. Definitely a music blog.

god how I love Gob. amy poehler is one lucky lady. almost as lucky as Jason Bateman's wife.

congrats on the Death Cab connections. Ben Gibbard is a great songwriter, despite what any of the "sell-out" people say.
