We Have The Facts And We're Voting

thumbnail icon: We Have The Facts And We're Voting

In honor of events slightly more momentous than the leak of a new Killers song, Stereogum's signing off for the rest of the day and urging you to take this time to make sure you vote. Emotions will be high whatever the outcome so we just hope you make the most of the deep privilege afforded by a representative democracy like ours on a day like this and go claim your free stuff at Krispy Kreme or Starbucks or Ben & Jerry's. Anything less would be undemocratized. Also we'd like to acknowledge Senator John McCain for his service to our country, and Senator Obama for his diligent efforts at being Stereogum's 9th most tagged person in 2008. Props to Nas for tonight's theme song. See you in the future. (Aladdin Obama graphic by designbyhumans.com.)

As a North Carolinian, I appreciate someone else celebrating Elizabeth Dole's failure, but I don't think much of Kay Hagan either. Then again, I campaigned for Jim Neal in the primaries. I'll give this to Dole: her negative ads successfully blew my mind every time. If anyone has time, take a look at them. They are truly petty, ruthless, and ridiculous.

right after they announced he officially won and they went to chicago for his speech, the PA system immediately started playing "Fake Empire - The National"

despite the oldness of said tune, I say that gives obama some indie cred fo sho!

i hope you're joking about that national reference... that would be the worst song choice ever.

oh im not lol, they actually played it. i couldnt hear the lyrics though, hopefully it was an instrumental, the lyrics aren't very politically optimistic ...

The Nas track is an extension of his Black President track off his latest album.
