Well... let's figure this thing out:

Tina's not funny. Seth's not funny. Jimmy wasn't funny. SNL isn't funny. So... I'm not really seeing a big shocking change here. One episode of Chapelle's Show has more humor than a whole season of modern day SNL... and that's a half hour basic cable production.

So, in conclusion: Weekend Update sucked before, and so it shall suck again.

Seth's not bad, I just hope he brings something unique to the table and doesn't end up looking like too much of Jimmy stand-in. Let him be the Dick Sargeant to Jimmy's Dick York, if ya know what I'm saying. Same character, new style.

whatever. seth was funny when i caught him at an upright citizens brigade performance, and he's adorable, and funnier than fallon, and can do scenes WITHOUT cracking up (yeah, jimmy... it's cute/funny the first couple times. after that it just means you can't act.) so i say "hooray for seth meyers!"

The fact that Jimmy couldn't seem to make it through the WU sketch without cracking up was just a symptom of a greater problem: Tina and Jimmy just could not seem to get over how funny they thought they were. Every single joke they told, it seemed like one or both of them was on the brink of cracking up. This meant that on those rare occasions in which one of them managed to write a decent joke, the punchline was generally ruined by the fact that they couldn't spit it out with a straight face. When you telegraph a punchline like that, it destroys the joke. I don't know, maybe some of you guys think that this is just ADORABLE... and maybe you're right. Jimmy was Adorable and Tina was Adorable and I'm sure the new guy will be Adorable as well. But if I want Adorable, I'll turn on the Jessica Simpson show. SNL is supposed to be comedy.

Why would it suck? I think that having a partner is good for Fey, and Meyers is basically a superior, smarter version of Fallon. It should be exactly the same, only way better.

Everyone thinks Tina Fey is cool because she is not only delivering the jokes shes one of the head writers. She is also very funny. So don't be haten' Seth Meyers or Tina Fey!

i love tina. and just because someone cracks up doent mean they think they are funny. thats not something you do when you think youre funny. have you ever done theater or somethign where your in an environment that is constantly making you laugh, and where youre surrounded by funny people? its hard to keep a straight face. and how could he be laughin at how funny he is? he didnt write alot of the update jokes? you laugh at other people's jokes, right? thats what he's doing. but if you wrote a joke to yourself, would you laugh?? think of it that way. jimmy DOES have a habbit of doing that, but so does horatio sanz, and rachel dratch, so lay off. i think horatio is just as bad, but i still love him. seth if fuckin awesome, and im glad for the whole WU spot, but dont think hes never cracked up, cuz he has. and seth isnt supposed to be taking jimmys place, by the way. hes gonna be something completely different. a whole different flavor, so i hope nobody automatically assumes that its gonna suck. if you compare jimmy and tina to some other Update hosts, they look like a million bucks up there.

I love Seth Meyers! He is my favorite cast member on the show. I think that he is going to be great on WU. I like Jimmy Fallon too, but I tink Seth can do even better.Tina and Seth are a perfect team!

Seth was an obvious replacement for Jimmy. I think he will be great. He is witty & now since Jimmy is gone, the cutest guy in the cast.

As for, Jimmy cracking up during sketches, I've seen Seth do it too, just not as obvious as Jimmy. I think it helps out some of the sketches that lack.

I think it will be good, but I'm sad Tina won't be doing it alone. She can definitely handle herself (hysterical), and it would have been great to have the first female solo anchor. I guess we still have a ways to go in society accepting a strong woman in a lead....

well..here we are four years since this post. and guess what: seth meyers has proven himself alright. Proven that he is a no talent, unfunny, creativeless reader of words on a teleprompter. No character, no bredth of comedic delivery, a one dimentional twerp no doubt related to a producer.

Oh..sure...he stares into the camera and holds the smirk for longer than necessary after delivering the weak lines the SNL writers create for him. But strangely, It doesn't make anyone laugh, other than the stuido audience.

Much like the entoire show, seth meyers should be put out of his talentless misery.
