Wham! Are! Back!

You read that right (if you haven't read it already). Well, they're "back" for a one-off Christmas concert in London's Wembley Arena -- and it was Georgie's idea! Fancy that, George being desperate. Michael is in so much trouble these days, you'd think his next step would be rehab. But making nice with Andrew Ridgeley is gonna help with those legal fees! The Mirror reports:

They will be joined by their backing singers Pepsi and Shirlie to make it the pop event of the year. Despite George's recent problems - last week he was cautioned for possession of cannabis after being found again slumped asleep at the wheel of his car - he has been determined to persuade Andrew, also 43, to team up with him again.

...

Pop superstar George began his first tour in more than 15 years in Barcelona last month. Critics hailed his return to live performing, with one reviewer noting that although George's "trademark stubble is now greying, he still has one of the finest voices in British pop".

The Mirror also gives us a list of Wham!'s Top 10 UK hits:
  • Young Guns (Go For It) (#3 in 1982)
  • Wham Rap (#8 in 1983)
  • Bad Boys (#2 in 1983)
  • Club Tropicana (#4 in 1983)
  • Wake Me Up Before You Go Go (#1 in 1984)
  • Freedom (#1 in 1984)
  • Last Christmas (#2 in 1984)
  • I'm Your Man (#1 in 1985)
  • Last Christmas (reissue) (#6 in 1985)
  • The Edge Of Heaven (#1 in 1986)
  • Get on your guilty feet and get into it:

    Wham! - "Careless Whisper" (MP3)
Wham! - "Everything She Wants (MP3)

Sigh. Sax just hasn't felt as good since they've been gone. Who's going to London?!

Not bad tunes. I have good memories of an old girlfriend after hearing these. Hard to believe over 20 years have passed since these tunes were released.

You did pick the two least gay of all Wham's songs. Congrats.

I used to love Wham rap cause my ex room mate always played it and now He's come out of the closet. Fuck! He made me do mad crazy gay shit when I was in college. Nothing sexual, or anything like that, but music wise he got me into anything box and pet shop boys.

I'm going to go on the record yet again by stating that I love Wham. I am not ashamed! Or I have no shame. One of the two.
